All part of a large rollout across the West Midlands installing on-street public chargers for residents that are not able to charge from home. This was working across the 4 boroughs (Wolverhampton, Walsall, Sandwell, & Dudley) on the public highway.

Our groundworks team, trained on NRSWA, carried out the civils works and have completed over 60 sites on this scheme.

 

The groundworks consisted of casting a bespoke concrete base for a feeder pillar, including an earth mat, at the back of the footpath, install and EV Mini Block, and  trenching between the two. The path was reinstated using a resin based asphalt for longevity. The site was left several days before the feeder pillar was fixed to the base.

Once the local DNO had installed a new LV supply and electric meter, we then reattend and installed the twin chargers with all electrical components ready for the general public to charge their EVs.
